Fleet Forum Promotes Road Safety in India through Round Table Event
Mumbia, India… (9 January 2013) Fleet Forum continues to promote road safety in India through the ongoing Round Table programme with the latest meeting scheduled for 1 February 2013.
The India Road Safety Round Table, begun in 2011, brings together a wide range of road users committed to developing a joint vision regarding how to approach road safety in India and to work on practical projects to achieve this.
Three primary initiatives have been identified: to improve and set industrial vehicle standards, develop training curricula and certification, including resources for two wheelers, and to engage the relevant communities.
“During this full-day event we will discuss the updates on the three initiatives,” comments Fleet Forum programme manager Erik Snellaars. “We will aim to learn from this approach, decide on the next steps, and to develop a joint vision on the approach of road safety in India. In this Round Table we welcome some new organisations who want to participate in this fresh build community of organisations who see the benefits of collaboration.”
Senior managers are expected to attend from organisations including: UPS, World Vision, DHL, Coca Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Agarwal Movers & Packers, TCI Logistics, BP, Shell, Domino, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Moto Corps, GSK, FIA Foundation, WHO, 3M, IRF, CII and DARCL.
This fourth Road Safety Round Table is to be hosted by Vodafone at their office in Andheri, Mumbai. For more information please contact Fleet Forum.
