ALL STAFF AWARENESS MODULE
In order to implement Fleet Safety throughout an organisation, it is important that all staff are engaged in the process and are aware of the organisation's position on Fleet Safety.
  • OVERVIEW

  • This module is the foundation for all the trainings during which participants will be introduced to the overall concept of Fleet Safety. Using an interactive format, facilitators will guide participants to analyse their organisation’s Fleet Safety challenges, gaining key insights into operational constraints that will be utilised in later training modules. Focusing not only on the organisation’s responsibility however, participants will also be asked what they themselves can do to improve Fleet Safety to raise awareness of their individual responsibilities.

SENIOR MANAGEMENT MODULE
Implementing Fleet Safety within an organisation is first and foremost a management responsibility.  Management needs to set the standards to which they want the organisation to perform and lead by example.
  • OVERVIEW

  • This module is specially designed to address Fleet Safety with senior management, and develop concrete Fleet Safety standards for an organisation.  Outcomes from the All Staff Awareness Session form the starting point for this session.  Under the guidance of the course facilitator, participants will conduct an Initial Fleet Safety Status Review, results will be analysed and a fleet safety action plan developed.

TRANSPORT OPERATIONS TRAINING
In all organisations a variety of departments, whether Dispatch, Transport, Procurement or Logistics, are involved with fleets in different ways on a daily basis.  It is their collective responsibility to operate these fleets in a safe and efficient manner.
  • OVERVIEW

  • In this module, participants will learn why it is important to address fleet safety in their daily operations.  Utilising an interactive format to assess the organisation's fleet safety performance, the facilitator will guide the group through topics including performance assessments, driver management, vehicle management, journey management and incident management.  Issues of compliance to fleet safety regulations will also be addressed.
  • AUDIENCE

      Transport Managers or Supervisors, Logistics Managers or Supervisors, Dispatch Managers or Supervisors, Procurement Managers or Supervisors. 

 

 

TRAINER OF DRIVER TRAINERS MODULE
Organisational learning and development is a process of continual education and improvement. Building internal capacity to create induction and training programmes is an invaluable tool in creating a culture of Fleet Safety.
  • OVERVIEW

  • This comprehensive training is specially designed to teach Senior Drivers how to become a Fleet Safety trainer that is able to train their colleague drivers in all aspects of Fleet Safety. Beginning with an overview of Fleet Safety and basic training methodology, the module includes training in practical driving techniques (with a focus on ‘light vehicles’), First Aid, (mobile) communications and HIV/AIDS awareness. Utilising a role playing methodology in how to prepare and deliver trainings, each participant will be required to prepare and deliver to the class a 10 minute training session on topics covered during the module.

TRAINING OF AWARENESS SESSION TRAINERS
Staff empowerment is one of the single, most important tools to organisational success. When it comes to Fleet Safety, empowering staff to create an internal process of education and improvement will ensure long term positive results.
