Requesting Interested Parties to Participate in New Technology Project |
In response to the outcomes of the April 2009 Fleet Forum hosted Satellite Tracking Roundtable Meeting, a project initiative has been designed to tackle the question of technology systems as they relate to fleet management, safety, environmental impact, tasking, monitoring, and control of humanitarian vehicles. This event identified that one of the primary barriers to humanitarian agencies' adoption of technology solutions was a lack of available information, which the Fleet Forum seeks to overcome with the launch of this new initiative. Aimed at providing information and tools that will assist humanitarian agencies in answering their fleet technology needs, the project is supported by clear business cases which illustrate the far reaching benefits of these solutions.
A four phased project that will encompass research, development of a decision tree tool to determine the optimal technology solutions for a given scenario, resources for organisational self assessments to determine technology needs, pilot testing, and sharing of the final results, the Fleet Forum is now seeking organisations interested in participating in the project.
