During the Fleet Forum Annual Conference in March, INSEAD will be conducting a special presentation on Fair Process Leadership. To maximise the effectiveness of this session with humanitarian transport specific information, Professor Ludo Van der Heyden-Professor of Technology Management and Operations at INSEAD, is requesting Fleet Forum members to contribute to the session by completing a simple questionnaire. We would ask all members, both those attending the conference, and those who are not, to please participate.

Dear Fleet Forum Members,

In order to prepare the Fair Process Leadership session in March 2010, we would like to ask you kindly to fill in the following questionnaire.

This questionnaire probes you for the extent to which Fair Process, a concept that will be explained in the session, is practiced amongst managers of the fleet management activity. So you do not need to understand Fair Process theory in order to complete the questionnaire, which essentially asks questions about your perceptions about how people generally behave in your organization. In particular, you will notice that nowhere in the questionnaire will you see Fair Process mentioned explicitly. Finally, be aware of the viewpoint we wish you to take in filling out the questionnaire: it is not so much about how you manage, but it is about how you perceive management practice in your organization, as best you can judge it and as you have experienced from your position. So it is your opinions and judgments we are interested in, NOT the “common wisdom” NOR what ought to be true, but what is true at your level.

It should take you no more than 20 minutes to complete. When filling in the questionnaire, please remember to reply as you observe interactions from your angle and as you have experienced them. The questionnaire asks for quantitative replies as well as qualitative ones. The latter are very important as they allow a much better interpretation of the former ones.
