Raising the Awareness of Transport in Aid and Development

Raising the profile of transport as it relates to the delivery of aid and development projects is important for agencies striving to get the right attention and resources directed towards their fleet operations.  The Fleet Forum had the opportunity to bring its message of increased attention to humanitarian transport to the attendees of the 2009 Aid + Trade event in Washington, DC.  Speaking at two sessions during the event, Martin Bettelley, Fleet Forum Coordinator, raised issues related operations and environmental impact of fleets to the mixed audience of agencies and interested companies.  Often focusing on audiences in Europe and Africa, the event was a good opportunity to bring key transport messages to a new audience of agencies in the US.
