Issue 2 Fleet Forum Direction Magazine Online Now
The second issue of Direction magazine is out now. With contributions from a range of organisations, the March issue covers topics including accountability in fleet operations, outsourcing, workshops, maintenance, and training. Transport also gets a human face, when we highlight the realities of the healthcare plight of many staff operating along transport routes. On 29-30 January 2008 the Fleet Forum will be presenting at this year's Aid + Trade conference in Geneva. Fleet Forum Coordinator, Rob McConnell will be speaking on two panels on 29 January and will be available for meetings during the Meet the Buyers sessions.
During a morning workshop on Transportation Relief the Fleet Forum will be joined by Riders for Health to examine transport operational effectiveness and efficiency, with a special focus on accountability and fleet operations in challenging environments including emergencies. Following this session, the Fleet Forum will be a part of an afternoon workshop, along with WFP and Muslim Aid, entitled Partnering for Relief, where the focus will be on optimising logistics.

Fleet Safety Kick-off Meeting Held in Nairobi to Initiate Kenya Implementation Phase
The Fleet Forum launched the first implementation of its Fleet Safety Project in Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday 14 November 2007. The Kenya Implementation phase of this global road safety project will train more than 1500 staff from 6 agencies - Oxfam, World Vision International, Goal, ADRA, UN World Food Programme and Care International.

Africa Regional Conference A Success as 162 Representatives Come Together to Discuss Humanitarian Fleet Operations
On 18 October 2007, the Fleet Forum partnered with the 2nd Annual Humanitarian Development Summit in Nairobi, Kenya to present a special half day conference dedicated to humanitarian fleet operations. Designed to focus on a regional dialogue between humanitarian fleet operators and the commercial sector, the event addressed key trends including clean fleets, vehicle leasing & finance, and safety. In parallel, a vehicle exhibition area was set-up where leading companies were able to showcase their latest products and discuss potential collaborations with the humanitarian sector.
