In India more than 100,000 people die on the road each year, and another half a million are seriously injured in road traffic accidents. To help combat these serious figures, the Fleet Forum, together with the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), TNT, Shell, and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), have launched the India Road Safety Partnership. To kick off, the Fleet Forum, together with its partners, visited Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai to talk to various stakeholders from the corporate and public sector and humanitarian organisations to gain interest for the partnership and to develop further plans. In Q1 – 2010 an India Road Safety Partnership seminar will be organised where the Partnership will be formally presented.
