In the summer of 2009 Peter Bakker, the CEO of TNT, received the Pitney Bowes Industrial Leadership Award for his effective company management. While TNT is known globally for its outstanding reputation in the postal industry, under Mr. Bakker’s leadership, the organisation has demonstrated both social and environmental commitment through its Moving the World program.

As part of the Pitney Bowes Award, Mr. Bakker was asked to nominate an organisation of his choosing that would receive financial backing from Pitney Bowes that recognises the achievements of the organisation. Mr. Bakker chose to nominate the Fleet Forum for further support of its Fleet Safety initiatives. In a small ceremony held at the TNT offices in September, Lars Gustavsson, SEO/VP: Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs for World Vision International and Chairman of the Fleet Forum Board of Directors, received a cheque on behalf of the Fleet Forum from Mr Co Konings of Pitney Bowes.

The Fleet Forum has earmarked this money to translate the Fleet Safety Toolkit into French to ensure wider distribution of the toolkit into Francophone countries. The Fleet Forum wishes to thank TNT, Mr. Bakker and Pitney Bowes for this kind gesture.
