Driver Recognition Programme

Driver Recognition Programme

South East Asia:

After two highly successful programmes in East Africa, we are pleased to announce that with the support of PAE and RMA, Fleet Forum will be the Driver Recognition Programme to South East Asia. The programme will start in August 2017 and will come to a closure with the Driving Champions Final taking place in May 2018 in Bangkok.

RMA and PAE | Title Sponsor

Over the past 60 years PAE supported complex and critical missions by providing global logistics and stability operations in some of the most challenging environments in the world. Safe road travel is a cornerstone of PAE’s support, and they have undertaken the task of training thousands of drivers in various countries over the past six decades, with the dual objective of expanding their own talented workforce and imparting professional skills to the communities where they operate.

Development of DG ECHOs MERR assessment.

With the launch of ECHOs Logistics Policy and following the Minimum Environmental Requirements, DG ECHO requires its partners to reduce the environmental footprint through minimum environmental requirements, mandatory from 2023, and recommendations. Fleet Forum in partnership with Hulo has launched the development of a MERR assessment.

The core activity is to conduct research around indicators, standards, and good practices regarding the fleet related MERs and to develop and roll out a self-assessment that organisations can use to assess their current fleet management practices against the Minimum Environmental Requirements and Recommendations. The self-assessment will give organisations insight in the areas they score well as well as where they have gaps.

The research and the outcome of the self-assessment will also give insight in what guidance, tools and other relevant solutions need to be developed to continuously ‘green’ humanitarian fleet management.

In this project we will work together with humanitarian organisations, academia and private sector. In the research phase indicators, good practices and standards will be identified as well as a definition of the maturity levels in the self-assessment. From the beginning feedback will be asked from humanitarian organisations in the development of the self-assessment. This iterative process will increase the ownership for the self-assessment in the sector.

Milestones in the project

  • Research conducted

  • Draft self-assessment signed off by participating organisations

  • Self-assessment tested by minimum 10 organisations

  • Self-assessment finalised based on feedback

  • Launch of final self-assessment

Deliverable: Self-assessment that supports humanitarian organisations to implement the MER.

Is this a project in which you should participate?

Yes, if you:

  • Want to be a front runner in the adaptation of DG ECHOs MERR

  • Want to get insight in the gaps your organisation has related to the minimum requirements and fleet management

  • Are eager to work in a collaborative approach and learn together

  • Wish to actively contribute to the development of the assessment as well as the identification of tools that support continuous ‘greening’ of your fleet
