2019 Theme: Leadership
Over 120 delegates from 60 different organizations attended a lively two days at the 17th Annual Fleet Forum Conference in Budapest, Hungary.
Fleet Forum’s Development Director and Master of Ceremonies Rose van Steijn kicked-off the meeting by thanking our host, UPS, and conference sponsors Renault, Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings and V-Tron. This year’s conference theme, “Leadership in Fleet Management”, underscores the importance of organisations and fleet practitioners to demonstrate leadership by running sustainable and safe operations.
Bublu Thakur-Weigold of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology led Tuesday’s keynote address, “The role of leaders in managing change”. Following the keynote presentation, delegates had the opportunity to attend multiple interactive breakout groups focused on the leadership theme, including leadership in people management and in managing road safety.
Day two started with a presentation on Road Safety Excellence from conference host UPS, delivered by Paul Mooney, UPS Director of Human Resources. Delegates then participated in another series of interactive breakout groups that addressed topics such as Equipping fleet managers to go beyond donor compliance, how to improve your fleet management ecosystem, and a 10-step plan to improved fleet management.
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. This year, Fleet Forum is launching the first-ever Fleet Management Escape Room. Conference participants will have 60 min to solve the ultimate fleet manager challenges, crack the code and claim the 2019 Championship.
As every year, we saved the last presentation of the day to announce the winner of the Best Transport Achievement Award. The winner of the 2019 BTAA is WFP for their SHERP project
